Change in Race Plans!

Big race plan changes! I was going to race Ironman 70.3 Korea on the 5th July, but unfortunately the race was canceled due to the MERS virus in South Korea. So there was another race on the same date I was thinking about doing as I have heard only good reviews about this one. So here we go, Ironman 70.3 Norway! After Challenge CamSur I had some more time to improve my running and I felt pretty good coming in to this race. It was not about 'hopefully' finishing the run, but rather about running faster and get some confidence. I had a good swim, so I had to ride the first 30km completely alone, before a group of 3 women caught me. A bit later the 5th woman joined our group. I arrived into

Back Racing

14 June - Challenge CamSur, my first race in 2015. Ha, this sounds a bit funny, as normally, half way through the season, I have maybe 10 races in my pocket…But this year is different because of the injury. So I was actually very happy to be back in racing mood :-) I had almost forgotten how it felt to be nervous, how you have to be focused when preparing your bike and equipment for your race. So many things you have to actually do before you finally stand on the starting line :-) I kind of just watched Sticksy and did what he does. Since last year Brad has been my coach, so we do a lot of training together, and our race nutrition is almost the same. I think I just eat more for breakfast

Learn from My Mistakes

Hi everyone! As some of you know I had not raced since Challenge Bahrain in December 2014, because of a knee injury. For ten years I was illness and almost injury free (except of one metatarsal stress fracture in 2009), but this injury I caused myself was the most serious so far. Now, I take it as a good experience, but I payed for this one a lot… I feel like I could help someone with sharing this story. So here it is. It started like all injuries, just a little pain in my right knee. I thought I just needed to do more quad stretching and it would go away soon. If not, I was not really worried as I knew I had just two more races to go and then the off season, where I would have plenty
