International Beijing Triathlon and What's Next
Since I started racing non drafting races, I was always thinking about doing the famous Beijing Triathlon. This race is only for invited athletes so this year, when I got the invitation I was very happy! Beijing triathlon was just one week after Sunshine Coast, so after my race it was citical to recover properly and prep for this event.
Sticksy wrote me a good recovery/ travel program because I felt really good by the time the race in Beijing started!
This race I actually felt the best so far from all races I have done in 2015 after my knee surgery . I felt strong in all three disciplines and my second place finish in a strong field confirms my feeling :-)
I have really enjoyed the whole week in Beijing and I am looking forward to come back next year.
1st: Lauren Goss (USA)
2nd: Radka Vodickova (CZE)
3rd: Felicity Sheedy Ryan (AUS)
What's Next?
First of all, I am going to support Brad in his first atempt in Hawaii, Kona. I also want to check out what Kona and racing there is all about. This may help me to decide if I should try to move up next year to full Ironman distances. Right now I really enjoy the Olympics and half Ironman distances…
After Kona, I will try to defend my title in 70.3 Port Macquarie from last year, then I will race my "home" race Noosa Tri, then Challenge Shepparton. My last race of this season will once again be Challenge Phuket, which I've finished with for the last 5 years.
